Under The Sea

Johnny and I have been wanting to visit the Living Planet Aquarium for awhile now. Yesterday we had some free time in our day and decided to go there to take an adventure under the sea! Olivia had a great time discovering the fish and sea creatures, she tried to touch them all through the glass and was completley entertained in doing so. Livi loved the exitement and watching all the kids run around, she was in complete awe of the situation! However, I'm not sure who had the best time: Olivia OR Johnny and I?

Crazy Eel's--They were huge...and really very disgusting.

Cool Bullfrog~ he was huge too.

Livi tried really hard to touch the octopus....

...and to touch the fish.
Mr. Octopus was ONE of my faves.

These Jelly fish were SOO cool I really wanted to swim around with them, they looked like they were having such a great time in there! :)
These were my favorite, I could watch them all day.

I don't know what they feed these creatures at the aquarium but everything is soo big...like this Humongous Lobster for instance, now that's a feast!

Bat Rays...aww the Bat Rays. The same reason I love disneyland so much, you can play with the Bat Rays. However, I had a hard time getting one to love me the same way that I love them. I had to really struggle to touch one while everyone else was casually waiting and feeling. I DID finally pet one but in the process managed to almost fall in and continued to get my entire sleeve wet. Shortly following the wet sleeve I managed to break out in a big rash and get some ugly hives on my arm. Ewww? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.

Livi thought the Bat Rays were too cool, maybe next year she can touch them too (under Dad's supervision, of course).

Here's a cute little seahorse, but he looked soo bored.
We saw Nemo and his Dad there, too.

Crazy looking lazy shark. Oh, wow and a picture with me in it.

Olivia loves to be down on her own and is getting very good at her walking skills.

I met this great spotted fellow, and we fell in love in the store!

Oh, what a day....under the sea.

The Awaited Shower For Baby

The Invites:

Finally the baby shower for Di Burger has come....and gone. We had such a great time at the party: soo much yummy food, awesome gifts and great company, 30 people to be exact! Most of Di's college roomates were able to come from out of state: Washington, California and Idaho and from other parts of Utah. Everybody made it safely through rain, sleet and snow to come and celebrate Baby Vanessa! It was fun to meet a lot of her friends and also to see some of them again! I think Di is great and so does anyone and everyone that has ever met her, no wonder why she's got so many great friends.

The Pictures:

Here she is the Party Girl...Only 5 weeks to go!

The Party Favors! With Annie's Help we came up with some really cute party faves in her colors pink and brown~Inside: Personalized Pink M&Ms that said "welcome baby" and "vanessa"!

This is only SOME of the loot. Di got seriously hooked-up. Thanks to her crafty friends a lot of her gifts were home-made items...seriously so cute and original!

Opening Presents.

She said it all

My Friend Lynly writes:

"Becca you might have got this email from Roylene but it really made me think of our great husbands and their babysitting skills. Hats off to dads they are the best".

Must I say more?

Di- I can't wait till you're here too!

Sneaky, Sneaky

My newest goal: Start cooking more, and cooking to feed Johnny more Veggies! Johnny is still a kid at heart he loves a good adventure to, and meal from McDonalds. That's right-my friends, my husband is a junk food junkie. Ever since I saw this episode on Oprah about Jessica Seinfield's new cookbook "Deceptively Delicious" I am determined to start using her ideas and some of her recipes. I now have the cookbook and really think that she is onto something FABULOUS here, however I haven't tried any of her recipes so I don't know how they taste. If you haven't heard of this before i'll give you a run down...Jessica Seinfield (Jerry's wife) would come home every evening after a long day and valiantly cook a good meal for her family (we all know how hard that is) only to hear whines and complaints on how yucky it was from her wonderful kids. She stumbled along an idea while making some squash puree for her baby from the squash at dinner (that her kids wouldn't eat) and making mac 'n cheese so the older kids wouldn't go to bed hungry (again from not eating the good dinner she had cooked). She realized that the two: the squash and the cheesy mac, where the same color so she started adding the two together! Come to find that the kids loved it just the same yet they were getting their veggies too, effortlessly! After lots of practice and i'm sure loads of help she has devised a cookbook with recipes of all sorts that contain ALL types of vegetables (and fruits too!)

I think this is a great way to sneak good, nutritious foods into your kids (or husbands) meals! We'll see how it goes!

My Bad Addiction

Nutty Guys in Utah has always been a favorite brand of mine for candy and nuts. Why? You ask: First, you can buy them pretty much anywhere: Grocery stores, gift shops, most cafeteria's, stores of all sorts (Cabela's). Second, they sell so many different yummy items and in all shapes, sizes and flavors. For example: Just ALMONDS this is what you could get: Raw unsalted, Wasabi, Butter Toffee, Chocolate, Chocolate Toffee, Yogurt, Jordan, and Honey Cinnamon! Yum, I know right? Thirdly, all of their yummy goods come in a nice little clear package so you can see exactly what your getting! So the point i'm getting at is this, I just discovered their Licorice products that come in yummy flavors such as: blueberry, pineapple, peach, pina colada, red raspberry, orange, chocolate, black and GREEN APPLE just to name a few, and WOW they are yummy! I love anything gummy or licorice to begin with and then you add flavors like these and you're bound for some trouble! My favorite flavor is definatly the Green Apple, it's the best $4 bucks i've spent in awhile! :)

Mmm...sucker!

At her 9 month check-up Olivia recieved a flu shot, the Nurse was kind enough to give Olivia a yummy yummy sucker to make her feel better....Wow...did she ever enjoy it! She held onto that sucker with a white knuckle grip and didn't take it out of her mouth for a good 15 minutes. By the time we got home her cute little cheeks were sticky yellow along with her hands, the car seat, her sweater and me! By this point she was willing to share!

Mmm...sucker! Want some?

Di's Having a Baby!

My BFF Diana is finally having a baby and I can hardly wait! She's having a baby girl, Vanessa Jay, on or near March 20th 2008. This weekend I am throwing a baby shower for her and her sweet baby at new my place. I am so excited about the party that I had to write a little something! Olivia is thrilled to have a new best buddy coming soon!!

So Big!

Olivia just turned 9 months old, I can't believe how time flys.

She is so aware of everything around her and is really starting to grow her big personality.

Olivia is so fun, she is constantly smiling and squealing in delite. She is starting to pull herself up to things and has already mastered "cruising".

She loves to be on her feet and be able to explore on her own, this is what makes her happiest! (Besides hanging out with her cool Mom!) :)
